About the event

Ever found yourself avoiding that one task, the one that sits on your to-do list and makes your stomach drop every time you think about it?

This session is your gentle nudge to tackle it head-on, with company and support.

“Eat the frog first” is a funny expression encouraging you to do the hardest task first so you can free up your headspace for the rest of the day.

Freelance life can mean juggling admin, applications, creative blocks, and a never-ending to-do list, often alone. This is a calm, structured hour to face one thing that’s been weighing on your mind, with other creative people alongside you.

In this focused session, we use body doubling, working quietly alongside others, to move past procrastination and back into flow. It’s a simple technique often found helpful by ADHD and neurodivergent people to boost motivation and accountability.👉 Read more about body doubling here.

What happens in the session (Now updated with 2 x 25min focused sections and so slightly extended to 1hr 10min overall):

🕐 Check-in (5 mins): Share your task or goal for the session.

🧠 Focused work (2 × 25 mins): We each get on with our own thing (cameras on or off) with a 5 min wriggle/stretch break halfway.

💬 Check-out (10 mins): Celebrate progress, swap tips, or get a bit of help if you’re still stuck.

⏳ We start on time to honour making this time for ourselves. If you are running late, don't worry, this is intended to be a neuroaffirming space. You are welcome to join when ready with your microphone off.

To get the most out of it, we recommend having all the things you might need ready in advance. Check you have any login details to hand so you don't loose time finding your focus, have extra layers to keep warm, and snacks so your tummy doesn't rumble.

Whether it’s an email you’ve been avoiding, a pile of paperwork, or something creative you’ve been meaning to start, this is a calm, friendly space to finally eat that frog, together.

Thank you for joining me,

Laura Kerry
