Commissioned by East London Waste Authority

Artillery produced the Spring 2026 Season of Repair Cafés across four East London boroughs on behalf of East London Waste Authority with their borough partners of Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Newham and Redbridge.

Thank you...
To the 390 residents who joined the Repair Cafés, to our "friendly and knowledgeable" repairers, to all our host venues, and to all our community collaborators, supporters and advocates. We really value everyone's determination to  to repair more and reduce waste.

Convening inspiring repair cafés for the climate crisis

Sharing know-how is at the heart of this programme, empowering people to make environmentally sustainable choices whilst reducing waste. The Repair Cafés embrace the Restart Party model with repair specialists de-mystifying the steps to diagnosing and fixing portable household items with residents. Artillery has introduced an additional hands-on skills workshop to each Repair Café thanks to the variety and experience of facilitators in our East London network.

The spirit in which ELWA has established the East London Repair Cafés chimes closely with Artillery’s values. Each features local experts, sustainability advocates and social enterprises. The characteristic warm welcome encourages residents to connect across shared intentions and common queries. By commissioning Artillery to deliver on all aspects of producing the Repair Cafes, ELWA’s inhouse team are able to focus energy on other ambitious elements of their Waste Prevention Programme.
