How it runs:
Sessions are youth-led, with support from Artillery CIC (a local arts organisation)
We keep things relaxed and low-pressure in a quiet environment(although the D&D table can get a little rowdy at times), you can join in or take a break whenever you like
Carers and supporters are welcome to stay, have a cuppa, join in and play games
Extra info:

Please invite friends to sign up too
Started and led by young people from another project Some Kind of Hack Space, the Games Cafe is run voluntarily by Artillery, a local arts organisation.

A few details about the venue
Arrival
Sometimes the front door is kept locked so only our group can enter.
If the door is locked, please knock and wave to catch our attention.
Space
We have exclusive use of the ground floor café.
Occasionally, people who work in the building may pop in briefly.
There is space for up to 20 people.
Sound
The café is on a busy main road, so traffic noise can be heard inside.
The front door may rattle when it’s windy.
Kitchen appliances make low humming sounds.
Smells
You may notice food smells as it’s a café, but usually cleared away before our sessions.
Lighting
Lighting is kept low in the entrance and kitchen areas.
Brighter lighting over the tables so games can be seen clearly is from domestic light bulbs.
Toilet
There is one toilet.
The extractor fan comes on with the light and makes a buzzing sound.
The light pull is just outside the toilet, with a yellow wooden block and a drawing of a lightbulb attached.
There are paper hand towels, and no electric hand dryer.
About the café
The café is part of a community-run space with strong environmental values.
They are working towards a connected, inclusive, and sustainable community.
