About the event
What's a StitchHike? A walk in the outdoors with a pause to sit and stitch in nature.
Keen to improve your repair skills whilst enjoying the Nature Reserve? Why not sign up for this StitchHike with Beccy Evans, designer of outdoor apparel and founder of Utilifolk. This is a wandering workshop with outdoor pitstops where you’ll be coached in textile mending skills. It is part of the East London Waste Authority's Dagenham Repair Cafe. This StitchHike will involve a gentle walk in the nature reserve. A chance to stretch your legs and to notice and enjoy you surroundings.
We will then stop and sit outside in nature and Beccy will guide you to make a mini stitch sampler, using some basic embroidery stitches that are great for repair or decorative work.
All sewing materials are provided.
Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for spending time outdoors in the weather.
Route will be adapted to incorporate shelter if there's rain.

This StitchHike is part of a Repair Cafe for East London Waste Authority’s Waste Prevention Programme produced by Artillery CIC in collaboration with The Restart Project, Sew London Project, Trailnet and London Borough of Barking & Dagenham.
