Wildways Stitch and Stroll

Would you like to spend more time in nature?

Would you like to walk in local green spaces?

Would you like to learn some simple hand sewing techniques?

Then come along to the Wildways Stitch and Stroll

This is a gentle walk in the outdoors with a pause to sit in nature and stitch.

Beccy will provide material, needle and threads and will guide you to create either a stitch sampler or a decorative patch to take away with you.

The practicalities

Departure time 10.30am Please arrive early so that we can set off punctually. Clothing and footwear Please wear clothing that suits the weather. Terrain will be a mix of pavement and open ground with wild planting including possible brambles, thistles and nettles. Toilets Nearest toilets at Hale End Library or Humphrey's Café in Highams Park

When it ends

We aim to finish activities by the River Ching at 12noon. You can set off from there to your next plan, or join us on the 5-10minute walk back to Hale End Library.

Beccy has been developing StitchHikes for community events and festival programmes. She is a clothing designer who specialises in outdoor apparel. She is one of 23 artists who have taken part in Wildways with Artists - a 10 week creative investigation of the River Ching. Her resulting artwork is currently exhibited in Artists Field Notes at Hale End Library.
