About the event
Oolo London invites you to bring your own damaged or forgotten jewellery pieces to a workshop where we help you turn them into something more personal, tailored and beautiful.
"We have so many positive things we collect as markers of life events, to remember someone special, because of aesthetic taste. Jewellery is especially symbolic and difficult to work out what to do with once it’s no longer relevant, so instead of leaving it to die in the back of your jewellery box, come along and breathe new life into those once loved objects." www.oolo.london
Workshop Detail
● Please bring a piece of jewellery that you would like to work on (or a few if you would like to combine a few existing pieces).
● We will supply the tools: pliers, snippers, hammers, jewellery glue.
● Oolo London will supply recycled sterling silver, brass elements, pearls, beads, clasps, chains, to help complete your jewellery transformation.
● Oolo London will be on hand to give creative tips and guide you to redesign your piece.
This could be the perfect opportunity to customize with purpose and bring relevance and value to something you might be discarding.
If you would like to discuss a more complex design that you would like us to develop further, we can do this at the workshop. Please bring your item and we can give you a quote for the work.
Lynn Harris Clark is the designer-maker behind Oolo London. She makes sculptural jewellery inspired by brutalism and modernism using traditional techniques and recycled materials. Bring a friend and make gifts for each other! Remember to book for both of you!! Aspiring young jewellery designers are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. Please note that this workshop is not intentionally designed for children but Oolo London do not want to exclude children and young people with a particular interest in this field. We look forward to seeing you there!
This workshop is part of The Reuse and Repair Fair programme commissioned by Waltham Forest Council’s Climate Emergency Team.
