About the event
An afternoon of live demos, workshops and repair specialists on hand to fix your household items including Fair Favourites:
GIVE and TAKE: Pick up unwanted toys, clothes and household items all with lots of life still in them. Or bring your own good condition unwanted items for someone else to re-home.
ELECTRICAL REPAIRS with Forest Fixers: first come first served, Forest Fixers volunteers will diagnose and repair (when possible) your portable home electricals (sorry - no microwaves).
DR BIKE: first come first served, bike maintenance specialists can do running repairs or diagnose more involved issues with recommendations on next steps
WORKSHOP: Introduction to Sashiko - Mika Sembongi introduces participants to the key stitches and traditional patterns of this robust visible mending and fabric reinforcing technique developed over centuries in Japan.
WORKSHOP: Reanimate Your Lifeless Jewellery - Oolo London invites you to bring your own jewellery pieces to a workshop session where we help you turn them into something more personal, tailored and beautiful - booking essential
WORKSHOP: Are you interested in sustainable fashion? Help University of Brighton researchers understand what sustainable fashion terminology you understand, relate to or find misleading - booking essential
REPAIR for your outdoor clothing & sportswear with Beccy of Utilifolk and Feral Crayon. Beccy also has in depth knowledge about maintaining the waterproofing for your outdoor wear. On the spot repairs offered (sorry, no zips) and advice.
REPAIR for your partywear! with Merveille of No One Famous. Do you have a favourite festive outfit that needs some TLC? Or perhaps you want some advice on altering it to make it wearable again. Merveille is looking forward to reviving your wardrobe favourites.
